The company has announced considerable changes to its application. The Shop and Reels tabs will be revealed right at the center and front of the home page.
Instagram redesign puts Reels and Shop tabs on the home screen
Moreover, the Likes and Post buttons are shifted to the upper right corner of the page, next to the DM’s button. Besides this, Reels is similar to TikTok; it allows users to create short videos. It is basically the company’s reply to TikTok. Now it is a sub-platform within Instagram where users can make quick, entertaining vertical videos. Moreover, the video camera recorder is also similar to the TikTok one. The company said, “Now we’re rolling out the Reels tab to be kind of a stage, a place where people can share their creativity with the world and have a chance to break out and find an audience.” Instagram added, “With the Shop tab, we’re making it easy to get inspired by the creators you love, shop on Instagram, and support small businesses. You can find personalized recommendations, editors’ pics curated by our @shop channel, shoppable videos, new product collections, and more…” Sound known? Instagram’s Shop and Reels tabs are not even new. Before this update, you could find IGTV and Shop accounts in the search bar, and a tile that takes up many search tab contains Reels in it.
