Russia’s First Smartphone – YotaPhone
Russia’s first domestically designed smartphone, the YotaPhone, was unveiled in Moscow on Wednesday, featuring an always-on second screen as a unique feature to differentiate it from the plethora of competitors. The Russian phone, which uses an Android operating system, is an attempt by a European company to jump into the handset market, largely dominated by American and Asian manufacturers. The phone has a 4.3-inch 1280 HD display, slightly larger than the iPhone 5 but smaller than the top-selling Galaxy S4. The device has a fixed price of 499 euros ($678), will be launched in December in Russia and Germany in stores and online in France, Spain and Austria.
